Dictionary definition of diligence is: "Careful and persistent work or effort"
 Seems pretty straight forward, but not always the easiest thing to carry out. So where do we start when we want to be diligent in something?

🔸️Diligence is carried through with Determination.
You can decide to be consistent in your work but still run out of motivation. Determination is the fuel that drives diligence when you run out of motivation.

🔸️Diligence results in Discipline
The constant practice of something creates a discipline to continue to be consistent.

Now that we know how to practice diligence, what do we get out of it?

🔸️Diligence rewards hard work

The parable of the Talents shows how the servants were given talents and invested them to make twice as many talents as they had in the first place. The servant who was given 5 talents made 10, and the master rewarded his hard work by giving him more to be in charge of.

🔸️Diligence reaps health habits
When you invest your careful and persistent effort in Godly things, you create Godly patterns and habits in your life.

🔸️Diligence realizes hope
Diligence is put in towards goals and dreams you want to accomplish. In due course those dreams become reality when the effort is put in diligently.


First and foremost be diligent in your relationship with God.

Like a parent - child relationship, it’s easier to respond to your parents’ requests when you’re diligent in creating a good relationship with them. Likewise, when we’re diligent in creating a good relationship with God, it’s easier to be diligent in the calling he has placed on our lives.

Lastly, we must remain diligent in the face of disappointment. The perfect example of this is God himself. His love for us and pursuit of us is diligent and never waivers, even when we fall short of his Glory, he chases after us constantly. He is diligent in loving us, so we too should be diligent in loving him and pursuing himDiligence is put in towards goals and dreams you want to accomplish.
